How do we get to the site?
GOOD QUESTION. This always proves difficult! Our address is as follows; Tey Brook Farm, Great Tey, Colchester, Essex. The post code is CO61JE If you are coming from the A120 then follow the signs to Great Tey. Your sat nav will either bring you to Tey Brook Farm or the Tey Brook Centre. Carry on past both of these and you will see the entrance to the site a few hundred metres further on on your left hand side.
If you are coming from the the opposite way then you need to continue straight through Great Tey until you come past the Church on your right, follow the hill down for 300 metres and you will see the entrance clearly sign posted on your right.
By train
Trains run from Liverpool Street every hour and are 50 minutes long. If you are coming by train then the nearest station to us is Marks Tey which is a 10 minute drive away. One of us will normally be on the farm to pick you up so please ask before arrival. We charge £15 to collect you and drop you back off at the end of your stay.
Is there a minimum stay?
2 nights minimum
What if we need to cancel?
If you want to cancel your trip then please let us know 60 days in advance so we can fill your place. If it is any less than this then I am afraid we cannot refund you
Can we have a camp fire?
There is a fire pit provided for you. No other fires are allowed on the site.
Are dogs allowed?
Absolutely - £10 additional charge though! Just usual rules apply of clearing up after them if they are mucky pups and it is your responsibility to make sure they do not harm another animal or child on site.
Can I bring a hairdryer or straightener?
Absolutely not for 2 reasons. Electricity is limited and it will most likely cause a power cut and disrupt the rest of the site. Secondly, we are in the middle of nowhere so why do you need your hair straightened? Let your hair down and enjoy yourself.
Can we store food anywhere?
We have loads of fridges which are split into sections for each accommodation
What do we do if it rains?
EMBRACE IT! We are in England so it would be unusual if it didn't rain but we have a marquee with a football and ping pong table to keep you entertained if the weather is abysmal. Alternatively we can direct you to a few local pubs where you can hunker down by the fire with an ale and glass of wine and thaw out.
Do we need to bring firewood?
Fire wood bags are sold at the site for £3. Just bring firelighters and charcoal.
When is the Glamping season?
Beginning of April to end of September
When can we check in ?
You are welcome to arrive whenever you wish and chill in the site for the day but check in is not officially until 14:30 pm and finishes at 19:00. If you aim to arrive after this then you must inform us in advance.
Is the site secure?
The site is incredibly secure. The gate is shut in between guests arriving or departing. The site is set amongst 20 acres of woodland and there are always atff close by if you have a problem
